Random Monster Table CIC

Welcome to the website of Random Monster Table CIC, creators of Daundermyth and the Your Emotional World game system.

Why we do it
Sometimes a Random Monster visits us all, whether that is anxiety, sadness, anger or just everyday strife. For our kids, these random monsters can be more extreme, and difficult for parents to understand where to go for help.

But that doesn’t always mean needing a therapist. It’s about finding the right tools to work through things ourselves such as exploring and accepting our emotions, giving ourselves permission to say things out loud with confidence or just meeting new people who feel like us.
Now more than ever, young people experience pressures through school, social or homelife.

I started this company to give our kids the right tools at the right time of life to support them now and into their future. I was one of those kids. And creativity helped me at a time I needed it most.
We’re here to help.
Our Story
Random Monster Table CIC is a Community Interest Company based in East Lothian, Scotland,

Since 2018, we’ve been working voluntarily with young people in Primary Schools ; using art, role playing games and storytelling to teach skills and confidence.

While covid stopped all in-school work for a time, we focused on growing the company, our plans for working with more schools and reaching more kids.

What we do
With support from primary school teachers, we work with young people in the local community who need the most support. During school hours, we use art, game playing, and storytelling to give kids who struggle with strong emotions, friendships, social skills or confidence the tools they need to improve their resilience and mental health.

Using our unique Your Emotional World system allows young people to explore their random monsters in a safe environment with no cost to the parent or the school.

We couldn’t do what we do without the financial support from government and local trusts and foundations.
We also run paid for classes outside school hours. This all helps to make sure there are no financial barriers to our kids getting the help they need, when they need it.
